The hardwood parquet flooring kits are based on classic 17th Century floors, the parquet kits are precision-cut from genuine cherry, maple and walnut hardwoods.
Cherry and walnut floors look rich with just a natural finish. If you want to stain custom colours, choose the maple tiles. Maple is a light wood which accepts stains beautifully, but with none of the fuzz or blotchiness of basswood. The natural maple tiles also work well in a more contemporary setting.
We recommend the use of Stick'M double-sided adhesive sheets or double-sided sticky tape for assembly. If you choose to use wood glue or contact cement instead to lay the floor, the floor will need to be weighted as the moisture in the glue may cause the tiles to lift. For this reason, we strongly recommend using double-sided adhesive sheets or tape.
Clear, illustrated instructions include our easy finishing suggestions. Standard 1/32" miniature woods can be used for extra trims of the same thickness, without the need to sand or shim.
These floors looking stunning and are easy to lay. In the UK we tend to use walnut or cherry floors rather than maple.
